Steer Studio

Steer Studio is the editor of your public website. Its sections are grouped as in the Studio menu: Identity, Design, Content, Legal, Dealership and Platform.

Brand basics

  • The dealership name, tagline and short pitch that anchor every page.

Logo and browser icon

  • Choose the logo shown on your website, plus the small icon used in browser tabs and phone shortcuts.

Color system

  • Six tokens drive the entire theme. Start from a preset, then tune the primary swatch to match your brand exactly.

Typography

  • Design
  • A primary face for body copy and a heading face for impact. Choose Google Fonts that already load on the site.

Hero section

  • Content
  • The above-the-fold heading, supporting line and call-to-action that visitors meet first.

Page editor

  • Content
  • Set the page-level content, calls to action, visibility and search preview for pages included by the active template.

Navigation & footer

  • Content
  • Keep the main navigation and footer labels consistent across the pages your template exposes.

Vehicle detail

  • Vehicle data comes from inventory. Choose which optional modules the public detail page may display.

Sales pitch

  • The short narrative below the hero — the “what we do” block that converts the curious.

Testimonials

  • Content
  • Show real customer feedback to build trust and help visitors choose your dealership.

Listings page images

  • Images used on the listings page — the top hero banner, the placeholder for cars without photos, and the empty-state illustration when no results match a search.

Price estimation

  • Illustrations used on the price-estimation page — the top hero, the bottom hero, and the header image inside the popup modal.

Search & sharing

  • Control the headline that appears in Google results and the card that renders on LinkedIn, Facebook and Slack.

Legal pages

  • Manage the privacy policy and terms shown on the public legal pages. Empty fields keep the template translations.

Contact information

  • Dealership
  • Where leads can call, email and visit. These details appear in the header, footer and contact section.

Social media

  • Drop in the URLs for the social channels you actually maintain. Empty ones won’t show up in the footer.

Booking form

  • Texts, fields and messages of the booking form on vehicle pages.

  • Show or hide entire site modules without touching code.

Analytics & tracking

  • Wire up tracking before launch — every script on this page fires on every public page.

Data source

  • Where the public site loads its inventory and pricing from. Point this at your Steer backend or any compatible feed.

Access​

  • Menu: My website, then Open Studio on the Edit your website card (/dashboard/my-website). Studio opens in a new tab.
  • Requires the Steer Studio module on your team.

Put my website online​

  1. Open Studio: in My website, click Open Studio on the Edit your website card.
  2. Edit: work through the menu, starting with Brand basics, Logo and browser icon, Color system, the Hero section and Contact information. Check the result in Preview, or use Edit on page to change a text directly in the preview.
  3. Save: click Save changes. Saved changes go live on your website's current address.
  4. Domain: back in My website, on the Custom domain card, click Buy a domain to register a new one, or connect a domain you already own. See Domains and Get online wizard.
  5. Publish: when the domain shows Connected ("Your website is live"), click Open the site to check it, and choose the live domain in My website if you have several.

Good to know​

  • Every Save changes publishes your edits. Discard drops the unsaved ones.
  • Version history keeps the last 20 saved versions; open one, then save to restore it.
  • The design of every page comes from your template; change it in the Template marketplace without losing your Studio content.
  • A company can have only one active custom domain.

Common issues​

"Please allow pop-ups to open Studio in a new tab." Allow pop-ups for Steer Autos in your browser, then click Open Studio again.

"Could not open Studio". Click Try again on the My website page.

"Save failed". Check the highlighted field in Studio, then click Save changes again.

The domain stays on "DNS pending". DNS changes can take a few minutes. Check both records in the Get online wizard.
