Market analytics

What it is for

Analytics compares the listed price of your stock with the market: stock value, gap to market and position of each car. Use it to spot cars priced above or below the market.

Access

  • Menu: Steer Pricer › Analytics (/dashboard/pricing/analytics).
  • Requires the Cars module on your team (Steer Pricer is part of it).

Steps

  1. Open Steer Pricer › Analytics.
  2. Read the headline figures:
    • Listed stock value: total listed price of the cars that have a price.
    • With market estimate: how many cars have a market estimate, out of the total.
    • Average gap to market: listed price against market price, on average.
  3. Read Stock position against the market (Above market, Aligned, Below market) and the charts Gap to market by car and Days in stock by price.
  4. In the table, compare Listed price, Market price and Gap to market for each car.
  5. Click a car to open its analysis: Estimate details (Source, Estimated on, Confidence index, B2B buy-back price, Comparable listings) and the chart Price against the market.
  6. A car without an estimate shows No market estimate yet: click Open car valuation to fetch one.

Good to know

  • Aligned means the listed price is within ±5 % of the market price.
  • An estimate older than 30 days is marked Old estimate. Run it again from Valuation.
  • On a large stock, figures may be computed on the first cars only; the page then says "Figures computed on the first N cars."
  • Charts need a minimum number of cars or comparable listings to be shown.

Common issues

"No car has both a listed price and a market estimate." Set a listed price and fetch a market estimate in Valuation for at least one car.

"Not enough comparable listings … for a reliable chart." The market has too few similar cars for this one. The estimate still applies, but the chart is hidden.

"Could not load your stock." Click Retry.

A car shows "Set the price". The car has no listed price. Click it and set the price.
