Add new car

What it is for​

The Add new car wizard creates a car record step by step: details, 360 view, analysis, condition, pricing, then the final report. Each step saves as you go, so you can stop and continue the draft later.

Access​

  • Menu: Cars › Add new car (/dashboard/cars/new), or Add car on the cars list.
  • Requires the Cars module on your team and a free car slot in your plan.

Steps​

The progress bar shows the steps in this order: Details › 360 view › Analysis › Condition › Pricing › Preview. Use Back and the next button at the bottom of each step.

1. Details​

  1. In Quick fill, choose License plate or VIN number and enter it, then click Confirm. Make, model, version and year are filled in automatically.
    • You can also upload a photo of the plate or VIN to scan it, or click Scan the registration certificate (fills the record without a paid lookup).
    • Prefer typing everything yourself? Click No, I don't, then Continue manually.
  2. Complete the sections General info, Overview, Specifications and Functionalities.
  3. Watch the counter (for example "3 required fields left"). Click Complete to jump to the next missing field. When it reads All required fields are filled, go to the next step.

2. 360 view (car damage)​

  1. Upload a walk-around video or photos of the car. The 360° view is generated from them.
  2. For the interior, use Driver seat, Passenger seat and Roof / interior, then Upload images.
  3. Click Add damage (or click on the 360° view) to place a damage marker, then fill Damage details and add a photo.
  4. Optional: in Presentation mode, pick General or Showroom. Showroom needs the Front, Right, Back and Left views, then Generate 360°.

3. Analysis​

  1. In Select inspection method, choose one or more methods:
    • Connected OBD2 diagnostic (about 5 min, needs an OBD2 dongle) – Start diagnostic.
    • Road test (about 15 min, needs an OBD2 dongle and room to drive) – Start road test.
    • Workshop checklist (no equipment) – Record readings for tires, brakes, suspension, battery, steering and engine.
    • Existing report – Import a report: an expert report, trade-in sheet, workshop checklist, OBD report or battery ticket, as PDF or photo. Then Read the report and Add to the car.
  2. The counter shows how many methods are done. A road-test analysis keeps running if you leave the page.

4. Condition​

  1. Open Damage assessment to review the damages, their decision, severity and repair cost. Click Analyze damage to estimate them.
  2. Open Tire assessment: Measure wear (camera-guided tire diagnosis) or Scan references (sidewall scan for size, brand, season and DOT).

5. Pricing​

  1. In Market pricing, click Fetch market price. The plate is used first, then make, model and version.
  2. Read the Low estimate, High estimate, Best quote, B2B buy price and Confidence index.
  3. Enter your User price and click Save.
  4. Review Repair pricing (parts, labor, paint) and the Reconditioning summary. Switch Show TTC to see prices including VAT.

6. Preview​

The next button on Pricing finalizes the car and opens its report. From the preview you can Download PDF report, Share customer link (Short (3 days), Long (90 days) or a Custom expiry) and switch the View mode.

Good to know​

  • A plate or VIN lookup costs 5 credits from your credit balance, separate from the monthly car allowance. The auto-fill can only be used once per car.
  • Reading the VIN with Confirm is free; Complete with advanced decoding queries an external service.
  • Photos: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC or HEIF, 10 MB maximum each.
  • The market estimate covers cars in France.
  • If a car with the same plate or VIN already exists, the wizard offers to open the existing car instead of creating a duplicate.

Common issues​

"Please fill Make and Model in Car Details before continuing." The next step needs at least the make and the model. Fill them in Details.

"Not enough credits to run this lookup." Lookups are billed from the credit balance. Top up your credits, or fill the details manually.

"We encountered an issue while attempting to retrieve your car's data." The lookup found nothing. Close the window and enter the details manually.

"Please save the car first to estimate repairs." Go back to Details, save the car, then return to Pricing.

"Network error. Please check your connection and try again." The step was not saved. Check your connection and click the next button again.
