Import my stock

What it is for

Import my stock brings your existing cars into Steer Autos in bulk: from a file, from your DMS software, or from a listing portal. It also exports your whole stock as CSV or XML.

Access

  • Menu: Cars › Import my stock (/dashboard/cars/import).
  • Requires the Cars module on your team.
  • Syncing a connector also requires being a member of the team and having the right to edit vehicles in it.

The page shows four cards and your Import history below them:

Steps

Import a file

  1. Click Import a file, or drop the file on the card.
  2. File: drop your file or click to choose it. Click Download a CSV template if you need the expected columns.
  3. Review: check N to add, N to update and the skipped rows. Filter the preview with All, New or Updates. Nothing has changed in your stock yet.
  4. Optional: tick Archive cars missing from this file to archive cars from your previous file imports that are no longer in this file.
  5. Click Import N cars (or Import and archive to confirm the archiving).
  6. Result: read the added, updated and archived counts, then click View my cars or Import another file.

Connect a DMS (connectors)

  1. Click View connectors. Each connector shows its status: Connected, Error or Not connected.
  2. Click Connect (or Manage) on your software.
  3. In Feed settings, paste the XML or CSV feed URL given by your software, then click Save and connect.
  4. Use Sync to run a sync now and Test feed to check the feed. Last sync shows when it last ran.
  5. To stop the automatic sync, click Disconnect and confirm.

Available connectors: Cardiff VO, Spider VO, Planet VO, Kepler VO, Ubiflow and Direct feed (XML / CSV / FTP).

Import from a listing portal (Leboncoin)

  1. Click Import from a portal, then Import with the extension on the Leboncoin card.
  2. Multi-posting: if Ubiflow, Spider VO, PlanetVO or Kepler already publishes your cars, click Connect my software instead. Otherwise click No, continue.
  3. Extension: install the Steer Autos browser extension (Add to Chrome or Add to Firefox). The page detects it by itself.
  4. Read your listings: click Start the import, open leboncoin.fr, sign in, go to My listings, click the extension icon, then Read this page and Send to Steer Autos.
  5. Verification: the page checks the "My listings" page, your company SIRET and that the account is not used by another company. If needed, use Get a verification code and add it to one of your listings.
  6. Preview and import: review the cars, tick the certification box, then click Import N cars.

For La Centrale, AutoScout24 or ParuVendu, click Contact us: the team helps you bring your stock over.

Export your stock

Click Export stock, then CSV file (for Excel or Google Sheets) or XML file (for a DMS or a listing portal).

Good to know

  • Files: CSV, TSV, TXT, XML or Excel (.xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx), 20 MB maximum, 5,000 cars at most per import.
  • The file is analyzed then deleted; it is never kept.
  • Columns are recognized automatically. Each row needs a registration, a VIN or a reference to be matched to a car.
  • Cars created by hand or by other software are updated but never archived by a file import.
  • The Leboncoin import is a one-off migration with no automatic sync. It never archives or deletes cars, and imported cars are not published until you choose to.
  • The Leboncoin import is only shown when it is enabled for your account.

Common issues

"Unsupported format." Accepted formats are .csv, .tsv, .txt, .xml, .xlsx, .xlsm and .xltx. For .xls, .ods or .numbers files, save the file as .xlsx or .csv first.

"No car could be read from this file." Check that the file follows the expected format: one row (CSV, Excel) or one tag (XML) per car.

"This file has too many cars." Split the file into several files of 5,000 cars at most.

"Feed test failed. Please check the URL or XML format." The feed address must start with https:// and return a valid XML or CSV feed.

"You do not have permission to edit vehicles in this team." Ask a team owner to run the sync, or to give you vehicle editing rights.
